About Us
Powder coating innovators
Established in 2001, Climate Surfaces was an early adopter of powder coating technology for use on non-metal building materials. Today over 50,000 buildings are protected or decorated with a Climate powder coating.
Changing the powder game
Recognising the need for more control over powder development and cost, the team at Climate built their own powder manufacturing facility and Climate Powder was established in 2021.
Climate Powder was founded on a simple idea that New Zealand manufacturers deserve a smarter, more sustainable alternative to imported powder coatings. When international supply delays, high freight costs, and energy-intensive curing became the industry norm, we decided to change the climate.
By developing and manufacturing our own powder coatings here in Aotearoa, we give local coaters greater control, faster turnaround, and measurable performance improvements while reducing environmental impact and operational costs.
Choosing the right partners
Our collaborations drive our difference. We design products that work in real-world coating lines, not just laboratory conditions. Whether you’re coating large industrial frames or intricate aluminium profiles, our formulations are engineered for reliability, consistency, and efficiency.
Working with local powder coating experts, the core principles of Climate Powder are to deliver products that are more efficient, cleaner and safer, reliably available in New Zealand and underpinned by local technical expertise and support.
We also partner with global leaders in chemicals and additives such as:
BioCote – a market leading antimicrobial additive supplier with over 30 years of expertise in antimicrobial technology. BioCote’s mission is to help businesses worldwide create innovative products that offer enhanced hygiene with protection against the negative effects of microorganisms such as bacteria and mould.
